Zero Emission Shipping Project
Name: Port Readiness Level (PRL) Framework
Project Status: In Progress
Point of Contact: Joshua Messner (US DOE)
Pillar: Fuels

This project will refine the previously developed International Association of Ports and Harbors’ (IAPH) PRL Framework. Over the next 6 months, a tool will be beta tested and developed into an online tool.

Project Objective:

The main outcome of this project will be a web-based tool to aid in the self-assessment, by ports and port authorities, of a port’s current and future ability to supply or support the use of alternative fuels.

Project Milestones:

Conversations with International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) and the World Ports Climate Action Program (WPCAP) regarding the implementation of the IAPH / WPCAP developed Port Readiness Level Tool have evolved into full partnership in which the Fuels Pillar will provide the resources and funding necessary for beta testing and website development of the tool in the next 6 months.
