COVID-19 response

COVID-19 has triggered profound changes in many aspects of the economy and society all over the world – changes that could affect the clean energy innovation ecosystem in the short- and long-term.

MI is seeking to support its members and the clean energy innovation community as they respond to the challenges brought about by COVID-19. Working in collaboration with members and our collaborating organisations, we are assessing impacts, tracking emerging policy responses, and considering the role of innovation in responding to the COVID-19 challenges.

This page is a “work in progress” and will be regularly updated with the aim of supporting the clean energy innovation community in navigating global developments.

We would like to sincerely thank our members and collaborating organisations for sharing their experience and knowledge, and for providing valuable input into this ongoing work.

Policy response repository

The MI Secretariat has put together a COVID-19 policy response repository to track and collate emerging policy packages that governments around the world are rolling out to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic on innovation. It focuses on specific measures to support innovation in general, and the clean energy sector in particular.

This is a “living document” that will be regularly updated as new measures are announced. The information included is publicly-available and not meant for comparison across countries.
